A big part of a girl’s wedding day is being surrounded by friends and loved ones. Most of us will admit that we choose the people with which we have the closest relationship with to be in our wedding party, to serve as our “attendants”. For some brides this is a large group of people, while for others it may just be a couple of close friends. No matter which is the case it is important that you as the bride provide a gift or a “favor” for your attendants to say thank you for honoring you with the time they invest to help you celebrate your big day.

Choosing bridal attendant gifts can be fun area of the wedding planning process and there are now so many options available today that you are sure to find something perfect. Just give it some thought and consider the following options:

Choose something personalized. Whether it be a personalized picture frame that they can later put a picture of the two of you together in after the wedding or a personal gift that you know they would enjoy, such as a fuzzy robe or a pair of earrings, making the gift personal whether that means personalized by you or a gift of a more personal nature. You can truly add an extra special touch and let them know you appreciate them by choosing something like this.

Stick with your wedding theme. On the other hand you may have a highly themed wedding where you want the gifts that you provide to match the theme and help your attendants to remember the event as a whole. Use your theme to let your imagination run wild.

Feed them. Not literally, but food does make a great gift. Whether it be a basket of snacks and homemade goodies or a box of gourmet chocolates, show them love and appreciation through food. There aren’t many people who would turn that down. You could even do a gift card to a local restaurant which they could use while they are in town for the wedding.

7 Ways to Present Your Wedding Favors

The presentation of your wedding favors is often the thing that makes them memorable to your guests. Whilst the favor itself and the packaging you put them in can make them unique to your wedding, finding an unusual way to hand them out can make them more so.

Here are 7 lovely ways to hand out your favors at your wedding:

Go for the traditional approach and place them on each place setting. If you design your favor tags with space for your guest’s names you can double them up as name cards also. Placing them on your tables in this fashion also provides a lovely finishing touch to your tables and helps to unify all the little details and your scheme.
If you are having a flower girl and/or page boy at your wedding, then why not ask them to deliver the favors after the wedding speeches and toasts are over. Equip them with a basket and pile the favors inside. Your guests will be delighted to receive a gift from a child in this manner.
Set a table aside in the reception and place your favors out on it. You can either pile them up in decorative bowls or plates or set them in a uniform fashion perhaps with your guest’s names on them. Your guests can then help themselves.
Use your favors as your centerpieces on your tables and pile them up in the center. You could use decorative pedestal dishes or plates to put them on.
Hand out your favors yourselves. It may take some time but it will give you the opportunity to chat with your guests and personally thank them. This personal approach will definitely be remembered by your guests!
Use your favors as escort cards and set them out on a table by the entrance to the reception room. Make sure each one has your guest’s names on them and lay them out in a uniform fashion, keeping each table of guests together. Your guests can then collect them on their way into the reception. Have a table plan displayed nearby as well so your guests can easily find their tables.
Save your favors till last and hand them out to your guests as they leave. You can do this personally as your guests will almost certainly seek you out to say goodbye before they go. Just make sure your favors are somewhere easily accessible. Alternatively you could have them set out on a table by the door with a sign asking them to take one as they leave.

If you would to offer other Italian style wedding favors how about sachets of cappuccino or espresso coffee. You could present them in matching cups and saucers. Alternatively give jars of multi colored pasta shapes and a recipe for a pasta dish. As an alternative to almonds or chocolates in your favors, give your guests some chocolate dipped coffee beans which incorporates the best Italian favors have to offer!

A tradition in ancient roman times was to shower the newly weds with bread crumbs to symbolize hope for a happy and fertile life. Stick with the tradition and give your guests miniature panetone cakes or miniature loves as wedding favors.
