A Guide to Bridal Hair Accessories

bridal hair accessoriesFinding the perfect bridal hair style is a challenging task all in it self, but once you have found it you want to make sure you accent it well. There are several options available in the bridal hair accessories category.

Veil
The bridal veil is a traditional yet stylish hair accessory. Bridal veils come in different lengths and shapes. Some shapes may fit your face better than others. One of the more common veil lengths worn today is the elbow length veil. This style allows you to have the formal look of a veil without overpowering your wedding dress. If you want to go with a dramatic, yet classy look you may want to consider a longer veil. The cathedral veil is one of the most formal veils, and extends 3.5 yards from the headpiece. Although these veils are beautiful, make sure that it does not take away for your dress or the overall appearance that you are aiming for on your wedding day.

Tiara
If you are going for more of a Princess feel with your wedding ensemble and wish to carry that over into your accessories, you may want to go with a tiara. After all, every princess needs her crown. Tiaras come in a variety of styles and sizes. Most of them are made with crystals or diamonds. They work well if you are looking for a simple yet noticeable accessory.

Halo
The bridal halo is also a great choice. They are similar to a tiara, but they go around the entire head. They can be simple, or embellished with crystals, flowers, or pearls. You can also wear the halo with a veil, if you would like to combine the two looks. A bridal halo can be worn with short hair cuts as well as an updo.

Bridal Comb
The bridal comb is another popular option. These are simpler than tiaras and halos because they do not go around the entire head. They are usually made with a decorative piece attached to a hair comb. These will work well with any hair length and style. They can also be used as the anchor for a veil. Combs give the look of elegance with the convenience of less hassle.

Head Band
The bridal head band is one of the less popular options, but is still beautiful. These work well for brides who want to wear their hair down for the ceremony. They can also be combined with a veil by attaching it to the back of the band, or using a veil with a comb in front of the head band. These, like any other hair accessory can be simple or elegant, depending on what you are looking for.

Bridal hair accessories are an important part of your wedding day look. You will want to take time to consider all of your options, and consult with your hair stylist. The ultimate goal is to find an accessory that accents your look rather than overpowers it.
