Creative Wedding Thank You Notes

There is much gift giving that surrounds a wedding. You will give some, like bridesmaid gifts and a wedding gift to your future spouse, but mostly you will be on the receiving end of lots and lots of gifts. Receiving tons of gifts is a wonderful thing, but it does bring with it the need to write tons of thank you notes. These are some ideas for creative wedding thank you notes that your guests will be delighted to receive.
Stay away from the store bought notecards emblazoned with “Thank You” across the front. They are decidedly uninspired and show no original thought. You want your thank you notes to express your true gratitude, as well as show off your personal style. This means getting creative, and designing your own cards.
People love personalized cards. A great idea for a wedding thank you card is to have notecards or even postcards made with a picture of the newlyweds. You can choose one of your favorite wedding photos or perhaps your favorite snapshot from your honeymoon. They can be printed in a glossy modern style, or an old fashioned colorized black and white if your wedding had a vintage style. If you really want to make your notecards personal, think about printing out a different picture for each one, like a picture of the newlyweds with the people to whom the note is addressed. It is a simple enough project to slip the picture into a photo pocket card or to glue it to a pretty piece of stationery stock to make your own cards. This little diy project will end up being the best thank you note your guests have ever received.
For those who love monograms, you can very easily create your own monogrammed thank you notes for your wedding. All you need to do is order an embosser with your monogram on it. Using the embosser to press your monogram onto a plain ready made notecard is so easy that even the groom won’t mind doing it. The end result will be very chic and stylish.
Lovely pressed flowers can also be used to craft creative and expressive thank you cards for your wedding. All you do is take pressed dried flowers and use a matte medium or glue to adhere them to a pretty notecard. Pansies work particularly well for this project. Choose a heavy cardstock that will take the weight of the flowers. If this feels like too large a task for your wedding guest list, think about doing it for your bridal shower gifts instead.
It is really fun to handcraft thank you notes that tie in with the theme of your wedding. For instance, if you had a Tiffany blue wedding, it would be so cute to get blank Tiffany blue notecards and glue two pieces of white satin ribbon on them like the ribbon on a gift box. The notes will be refreshingly creative, yet very simple to assemble. If you had a destination wedding, have your favorite image of the location printed on notecards as a special thank you note. The possibilities are endless.
Don’t forget to put as much thought into the message as the thank you cards themselves. Mention not only the specific gift, but anything else your guest did to help make your wedding special, whether it was picking up your relatives at the airport, helping you to find the perfect bridesmaid gifts, or just lending moral support. Between the creative notecards and the personalized messages, your thank you notes will truly express your appreciation to your wedding guests.
