Secrets For Accessorizing Your Beach Wedding Dress

It’s true that a beach wedding does not call for the opulence of jewelry. But the female heart simply cannot go sans jewelry–or be under accessorized! The beach wedding dress makes a splash, with proper accessorizing. But just like any other occasion, when accessorizing for a beach wedding, we should also tread lightly and not take the road to overboard.
Leave the majestic tiara at home. In the absence of a long veil and a train, this would look pretty silly. Most beach brides make do without a veil on a beach because of the probability of sudden breeze. Please don’t ask why the train is out of the question.
Beach brides make up for the absence of a veil by wearing flowers on their hair or using a beautiful headpiece. Opt for a very simple tiara that does not clash with your less formal wedding dress. A birdcage veil can be accented by a solitary white flower.
Look bejeweled enough but not too embellished, unless the wedding revolves around the holiday tree theme. The beach bride would look ridiculous wearing chandelier earrings, a multi-strand pearl necklace and bangles. It not only looks distracting (and funny), it looks cluttered too. An ultra sparkling tiara paired with an equally sparkling and embellished neckpiece may appear as much too much.
Jewelry should adhere to the style of the dress, too. A halter top dress would appear awkward when paired with a necklace. Try accessorizing with longish earrings instead. A strapless dress works best with chokers and Y-drop necklaces. A low back dress can be accentuated with a lariat necklace dangling in the back. Anything with asymmetric shoulder can be very difficult to wear a necklace with, so this can be skipped altogether. A scoop neckline looks good with almost all necklace types.

We can go two ways with a simple beach wedding dress. We can either match this with a simple necklace and teardrop earrings or we can wear a chunky necklace made of gemstones or a grand filigree design. In my experience, a beach wedding dress in all its sequined and beaded glory does not work well with chunky or beaded neckpieces.
As for earrings, pairing them with necklaces depends on the grandeur of the necklace. Use simpler earrings with large and chunky neckpieces. The beach bride shouldn’t appear as if she is trying to carry a pretty heavy load up her ears and neck.
In place of the more popular pearls and diamonds, semi-precious stones, wood, metal and other elements are also becoming likely choices for beach wedding jewelry. Other beach brides even don actual seashells in their headpieces and charm necklaces. Jewelry inspired by leaves, vines or flowers goes well with the beach wedding theme.
Some beach brides even leave out all accessories and jewelry altogether. On a beach wedding, the more natural you look the better. The key is to not overpower the simplicity of the wedding dress or defeat the natural sparkle of the beach wedding location.
