planning your weddingIf you’re a busy bride you are likely juggling many different things, possibly working or running a business, dealing with family, maybe attending classes, or any number of things. You probably wonder, “How am I going to find the time to plan the wedding of my dreams. The following are some simple yet overlooked ideas for the bride when considering planning your wedding, even with a limited amount of time to invest.

Plan. Do so by spending time with your fiancé really considering what is most important to the two of you. Get a good idea of what both of your vision for the wedding is, write it down, set some goals. Then you can create a plan of action and set forth to check each of your tasks off one by one. Alleviating a lot of stress for yourself.

Hire a Wedding Planner. In this economy it’s understandable to want to save money, but hiring a wedding planner can actually save you time and money by helping you to avoid costly mistakes in the long run, as well as a lot of unnecessary leg work. Experienced wedding planners have the planning tools you need. Just be sure in the beginning to relay to them your budget and they can map out the best route you should take. They also have wedding vendors on hand that can match your budget saving you time and money. If money is an issue consider hiring a day of wedding planner which can guide you in the right direction for all of your pre-wedding planning and get hands on the day of, saving you stress and worry and freeing your mind up to enjoy your day.

Delegate. You can hand off some responsibilities to the appropriate bridal party members. They are here to help. Just one word of caution, do not use up time micro managing them. This is where you must learn to let go and trust those who you after all chose to be a part of your wedding.

Get the Groom Involved. You have to remember that you do not have to do everything yourself. He can arrange transportation, honeymoon, relay groomsman duties, and take care of those “man” things that are associated with the wedding.

Establish some boundaries. This is your wedding not your mom or best friends. Don’t allow others to impose their vision of your wedding on you. Be respectful, consider their ideas and points of view but don’t spend a lot of time conforming to their standards. Stick to whats important to you as a couple. You’ll be happy that you did.

Stay Focused. Don’t try to incorporate every wedding planning idea and piece of information you find into your wedding. Searching the internet, watching wedding shows, looking in wedding magazines, wedding blogs are ways to find great wedding inspiration, but changing and rearranging your whole wedding every time you come across a new idea can take up a lot of time and can be stressful for the bride, groom and wedding party.

Don’t try to keep up with the Jones and their vision of the perfect wedding instead focus on what’s important to you and your fiance. Remember what’s important and plan accordingly.
